Recently, Leon and I took Max to London Zoo.  He’s a little young to fully appreciate it (he’s only 21 months old), but we had a great day regardless.

The Butterfly house is incredible.  It does steam up your camera lens though 😉

This was taken inside the Rainforest section.  Hot, steamy and so atmospheric.

The new penguin pool is just beautiful.  It has perspex walls all along one side, so that you can really watch them play underwater.

These guys made me smile.

I included this one because every time I see it, I chuckle to myself.  It is possibly the worst wildlife photo I have ever taken. 😀

We, naughtily, did a little quiet whooping and whistling to get the giraffes to come outside.  And to our surprise, they did.

There is something I find so appealing about the colour and the symmetry of this last image.

I love how the giraffes are looking at you like, "Yes? Did you need something?" Also, the otters. I love them. But I will never in a million years hold a butterfly, unless it is for a lot of money.

Butterflies (and moths) are very, very high on my irrational creepy-fears list.

Really enjoyed looking through these, Kirsten! We visited the zoo last year, and honestly, looking at your photos is better than the actual visit! Weather wasn't great when we were there, so most animals were hiding :-/. Thank you for sharing these photos!
