Mig and Denise’s Strawberry Hill House wedding in Twickenham took place on the wettest day so far this Spring, but hopefully you can see from the photographs below, nothing was going to dampen their spirits! Denise wore the most stunning short champagne coloured dress with a gorgeous lace overlay. I think you’ll agree, though, the stars of the show were her teal Kurt Geiger shoes. I mean, just look at them!

We started the day at their Teddington home, and then moved to Strawberry Hill House for the ceremony and reception. The rain started in earnest a few minutes before Denise got into the car, and didn’t stop for the rest of the day. While this meant that the bouncy castle was never used, I truly don’t think it made a real difference to the day. The venue is so beautiful, and so interesting to explore that the guests were never bored. Strawberry Hill House’s story begins in 1747, when Horace Walpole discovered and purchased ‘Chopp’d Straw Hall’, one of the last remaining sites available on the banks of the Thames in fashionable Twickenham. He set about transforming what was then a couple of cottages into his vision of a ‘little Gothic castle’ with pinnacles, battlements and a round tower. Thus Strawberry Hill House was born – the House became a tourist attraction in Walpole’s lifetime and beyond.

Denise is originally from Australia, so she made sure that there were plenty of Australian touches, such as the sweet offerings on the tables.

I love nothing more than when toddlers fall asleep during speeches. Those CHEEKS.

The staff at Strawberry Hill House very kindly allowed us up onto the very top of the building for a few pictures. I believe it’s a rarity, so we felt very honoured, and the view was incredible, even through the drizzle.
