I recommend that you grab a steaming cup of tea (or a large glass of wine) before browsing through today’s epic (yes, I did say epic) blog post. I tried to cut it down, but when you have a day where you have two exciting services (a British civil ceremony and a Hindu service), there really is no way to make it brief.
Kiera and Anil chose to have their wedding at the magnificent De Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor. I believe by the end of the evening there were around 300 guests in attendance! The day began with the couple tying the knot in traditional English wedding attire, before changing into their Indian outfits for the Hindu ceremony.
It’s not often I get to shoot two stunning pairs of bridal shoes on the same day!
I think this is my favourite shot of Kiera from the whole day. It really sums up her cheeky personality.
During the civil ceremony, the couple were serenaded by the most amazing choir made up of their friends. It was genuinely moving!
Easily the longest confetti line I’ve ever seen.
The choir even sang during the group shots.
With the civil ceremony over, the guests left to change and prepare for the second half of the day. I loved the Baraat.
The Milni is part of the day where the families are introduced to each other.
You’ll probably need a refill of that wine by now…
Then it was on to the Phera (Hindu ceremony).
Anil and Kiera did a fantastic choreographed dance to Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling. They kept that to themselves, including from me!
I can genuinely say that I have never enjoyed photographing on a dance floor more. The ENERGY and noise and colour was just incredible.
You made it to the end. Well done! 😉
Huge thanks go to my second shooter on the day, Cristina Rossi. She covered the parts of the day that I wasn’t able to, and I truly couldn’t have done it without her.
