There are few days in your life where the photographs are as important as they are on your wedding day. They’ll be passed down the generations for years to come (hopefully in printed form!). I want you to love the moments I’ve captured for you. Actually, these aren’t really your photographs in the end. They belong to your sons or daughters, and then to their sons or daughters. (I still often gaze at my grandparents’ wedding photographs and they tell me so much about what they felt that day.) No two weddings are the same. The images should tell your story, not try to fit into some kind of wedding magazine or Pinterest idea of what a wedding should look like. Getting married is an amazing choice for two people to make, and to capture that moment still makes my heart sing every single time.
For each and every couple, a wedding is the culmination of months of planning, designing, dreaming. I feel truly honoured to be asked to record this day for them, and for future generations. I take very seriously the trust that couples place in me, and I’m super prepared for every eventuality. I think I’m a calm and unobtrusive presence on the day, and I’m often told afterwards that the families barely noticed me moving around, and yet there are many moments that they weren’t aware of themselves.
If I had to categorise my photographic style, I would say that it’s mostly reportage, with some editorial style photography. The images that stand out for me from a wedding day are the ones that really capture the way the couple connect with each other, and the relationship they have with their friends and families – the authentic emotions of the day. I won’t be barking orders at anyone, or directing you or your guests. The only time that I have to break this rule is during the family groups shots, otherwise it would take way longer than it needs to, ha ha!
Please feel free to contact me at any time between booking and your wedding if you have any questions, or need any assistance with finding suppliers. I love to help, and I know some amazing people!
Although I photograph mostly London weddings, I’m more than happy to travel anywhere in the United Kingdom, or Europe.
