I met the adorable Emma and Jon last July at Jenny and Josh’s wedding in Cambridge. I was hugely honoured when they asked me to photograph their Oxford Town Hall wedding in February this year.
Look out the window right now in late March … see all that dull, bitter winter weather and grey skies? We didn’t have any of that on February 16th. The weekend was dry, sunny and it was about ten degrees Celcius. I couldn’t believe our luck, it was like the gods smiled especially on Emma and Jon’s day. They got married at the beautiful and historic Oxford Town Hall, then moved on to dinner at The Bell at Hampton Poyle. (Just to add, Leon, Max and I went for lunch at the Bell a few weeks later. It was probably the best roast I have ever eaten.)
I loved that Emma wore her mother’s wedding dress (slightly re-designed). I think it’s the loveliest thing you can do to honour your family history. It fitted Emma perfectly and she looked truly beautiful.
From Jonathan:
“I’d just like to say thank you for everything. I’m speaking on behalf of Em too (because now I’m allowed to!) but the entire experience from start to finish was fantastic. It’s strange to think how much we worried about the weather, logistics, and even where we would take the photos, but it really couldn’t have gone any better. The presentation box is such a lovely idea and was totally unexpected! Not to mention the little touches like finding out our entrance music for the slideshow. We’ve looked through the entire set a couple of times now and we’ll choose some to print out. The problem is that there are so many to choose from! Thanks again, Kirsten, and it was a pleasure to have you with us on our wedding day.”

Wow.

I think the sun will continue to shine for you two, and I know you’ll have an amazing marriage and life together.
As always, please feel free to leave some love for them in the comments xxx
