Back in July, on one of the hottest days of this ridiculously fabulous summer we’ve just had, I travelled down to Northease Manor in East Sussex for Carly and Matt’s DIY wedding.

I’ve photographed many weddings in my time, but I can honestly say that none of them was as emotional as this one.  When Carly walked down the aisle on her mum’s arm, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (including mine).  Carly wore the most stunning Maggie Sottero dress which fitted her like a glove.  She looked radiant and absolutely beautiful. Not to forget the groom, Matt, who looked so handsome in his morning suit!  By the way, Carly is a wedding planner herself and you can really tell by the fantastic details.

Carly’s reaction to her images:

“Oh my goodness, I don’t know where to start. All I can say is that I LOVE them!!! They are everything I dreamed of and bring everything flooding back… very emotional!  You’ve captured everything and I sincerely couldn’t have asked for more.  They’re perfect, I’m so ridiculously happy right now that I can’t even explain! I genuinely feel like the luckiest girl alive right now. Thank you SO much, you are amazing!  We have just opened your (beautiful) package and couldn’t wait to get on the computer to take a look through all the pictures…and we simply cannot believe how lucky we are! Every single image is beautiful and brings back such a wonderful memory! You have captured the whole day perfectly! The emotion and joy we felt on the day comes through in every picture…we couldn’t have asked for more from our wedding photos! We are beyond happy and I will say it again, we just can’t believe how lucky we were to have you capture the day for us! We cannot wait to share the images with family and friends…everyone is already raving about the highlights slideshow, so I know when they see these there will be lots of tears (there already have been from us)! Thank you also for the images you have printed out for us, what an awesome surprise!  Thank you so, so much again for letting us relive the best day of our lives…

I didn’t realise how important the photos would be to me until now, but they are simply perfect and will be treasured forever!”

That last line pretty much says it all to me about wedding photography.

What an incredible set of images... First of all the emotions come through thick and fast - I am literally tingling. Second of all, the bride and the whole day has such exquisite style and taste. I love all the creative details and the sense of fun and summer that comes through. Just gorgeous! Kirsten I really love your photography so please do let me know if you've shot any fabulous and particularly creative Jewish or Jew-ish weddings, as I would love to feature them on my blog. Do stay in touch! Karen x

Loving the yellow flowers on this wedding. Vibrant and colourful. Something which for some odd reason we don't see much of. Lots of pinks, fuschias and whites but rarely yellow. It really caught my eye, especially the photo of the three bouquets together. It looked lovely.
