I have been terrible at blogging full weddings this year. Let me rectify that today with Alison and Dan’s amazing Putney wedding. What can I say … it was SUCH a fabulous and fun day. Of course it’s important that you connect with your bride and groom, in order to bring out the best in you as a wedding photographer, but what is seldom mentioned is how important the guests are to the day. I felt so incredibly welcomed and looked after by the families and the guests. It made my job an absolute joy to do. Pretty much a perfect wedding from start to finish (despite a few things going wrong travel wise, but this couple didn’t let that affect them for a moment).
Alison very kindly sent me this recently. I love these guys.
“Kirsten fitted seamlessly into our wedding day. She immediately “got” the aesthetic that we were hoping for, and her pictures completely reflect the fun, joy and happiness of the day. She is an amazing photographer & was unobtrusive thoughout our day, a total delight. Even thinking about all the photos (let alone seeing them) brings a smile to my face. We absolutely LOVE the pictures & cannot recommend Kirsten highly enough.”
The day started with bridal prep at the Lodge Hotel in Putney.
The ceremony was held at this incredibly pretty Catholic church (St Simon’s Stock).
Then it was on to the drinks reception at The Rowing Club which is downstairs at The Dukes Head in Putney.
I LOVE it when couples book magicians as part of the entertainment. It makes for such fun reaction shots from guests.
Dan’s surname is Shine. I could not love that more.
Yes, that is a ring you can see suspended and spinning in mid-air.
Finally, the wedding party made their way over for dinner at the Ballroom at the Star and Garter next door.
The moment they realised that the DJ was playing the wrong first dance. This sums up these two to a T.
A brilliant, brilliant wedding. Congratulations, you two. xxx
